Job summary

PlayerZero is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to enhance the reliability, security, and visibility of production systems. You will combine hands-on AWSOps with automation, monitoring, and instrumentation to help engineers understand behavior and resolve issues at the source.

You’ll collaborate with SRE and engineering teams to operate distributed services, reduce toil, and strengthen incident response. Independent investigation and safe production changes are expected.

Qualifications

• Experience operating production services in SRE/production engineering roles.
• Hands-on AWS production operations across multiple accounts.
• Strong Linux, networking, and distributed systems fundamentals.
• Experience with Kafka, Pulsar, or Redis/Valkey including upgrades and failover.
• Proficient in automation, instrumentation, and operational tooling.

Responsibilities

• Operate production infrastructure and data systems; maintain AWS environments and services like Kafka, Pulsar, and Valkey.
• Automate operational tasks to reduce toil and standardize production workflows.
• Improve monitoring, logs, tracing, dashboards, and actionable alerts with solid instrumentation.
• Troubleshoot incidents across applications, infrastructure, and networks; produce runbooks and fixes.
• Make IaC-driven changes with CI/CD, change control, and safe deployment practices.
• Keep systems secure and up-to-date through patching and vulnerability remediation.
• Improve performance, capacity planning, and reliability targets.
