Job summary

Realtor.com is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join the Platform Engineering team. You will improve reliability, scalability, and observability across services, standardize monitoring with New Relic, and collaborate with multiple engineering teams to build automated monitoring and reliability solutions.

The role emphasizes hands-on troubleshooting, automation, and solving complex infrastructure challenges, with a focus on production readiness and incident response.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with observability/monitoring tools and cloud services.
• Familiarity with SLIs/SLOs, alerting, and error budgets.
• Experience with AWS, Kubernetes/Docker, and IaC (Terraform).
• CI/CD experience and modern software delivery practices.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotation and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on platform observability strategy and standardize monitoring across services.
• Implement and monitor SLIs/SLOs, and support incident reviews.
• Build dashboards and alerts as code via CI/CD pipelines.
• Monitor front-end and back-end performance and Core Web Vitals.
• Develop automation to reduce monitoring gaps and streamline workflows.
• Contribute to on-call rotations and post-incident analyses.
• Document troubleshooting steps and maintain runbooks for reliability.
