Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. in El Paso, TX, seeks a senior project controls professional to lead cost estimating, forecasting, planning, and reporting for multi-site engineering projects.

You will guide schedulers and cost engineers, ensuring alignment with project objectives and SOPs. Ideal candidates bring 8+ years in project controls, strong communication, ERP/SAP and P6 expertise, and the ability to manage complex scopes with rigorous documentation and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field with eight or more years of project controls or equivalent experience.
• High school diploma with twelve years of project controls or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and Outlook.
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
• Ability to multi-task in a high paced project environment.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP and scheduling tools like P6.
• Understanding of accounting functions and systems.
• Site-specific MSHA training is required to work at site.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, review, and maintenance of monthly, quarterly, and annual project forecasts and reports.
• Oversee cost and schedule forecasting, variances, and recovery strategies.
• Ensure timely delivery of project controls reports in line with SOPs.
• Identify design changes and schedule impacts; manage change logs and approvals.
• Maintain project schedule baselines and monitor weekly progress with schedulers.
• Ensure compliance with project controls standards and documentation.
• Oversee progress measurement and percentage completion reporting.
• Review and validate AFE requests and DOA process for key projects.
• Support development and maintenance of WBS codes for cost control.
