Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan invites qualified professionals to join the Bagdad, Arizona operations, where project controls leadership upholds cost and schedule integrity across multiple plant engineering projects. You’ll guide a team of engineers, schedulers, and quantity surveyors, oversee forecasts and reports, manage change orders, and ensure adherence to SOPs and governance to drive successful project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business field with 8 years of project controls or equivalent.
• High school diploma or equivalent with 12 years of project controls or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Project and Outlook.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a high-paced project environment.
• Experience with ERP systems SAP, P6, and other enterprise project performance software.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, review, and maintenance of monthly, quarterly, and annual project forecasts with alignment to current project status.
• Ensure timely delivery of weekly, monthly, and quarterly project controls reports per SOPs to support decision-making.
• Identify and communicate impacts of design changes, scope modifications, and schedule delays; manage Change Order/PCN Log.
• Maintain project schedule baselines; oversee weekly schedule updates and recovery strategies with schedulers and QS.
• Ensure compliance with project controls standards; prepare and maintain supporting documentation.
• Oversee progress measurement; develop methodologies for assigned scopes of work.
• Review and validate AFE requests for inputs and approvals.
• Manage DOA process and EPMS data for key projects; verify budget availability for procurement and contracts.
• Oversee development and maintenance of Service Orders and Pay Applications.
• Develop and maintain WBS codes to organize scope and support cost/schedule control.
• Perform other duties as required.
