Job summary

GFL Environmental, Inc is seeking a site supervisor to safely monitor and oversee all operations and employees in a US Illinois location. You will lead, ensure safety, and manage resources for high production standards and profitable operations.

Responsibilities include hiring, training, implementing maintenance programs, and ensuring compliance with regulations while maintaining positive employee relations. Salary is $68k annually with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years experience in the waste industry preferred.
• 1 year supervisory experience required.
• SWANA transfer station certification within 60 days of hire for Transfer Stations; training in hazardous materials for Landfills may be required.

Responsibilities

• Sustain a productive and motivated workforce by screening, hiring, training and evaluating personnel.
• Adhere to wage/hour laws and compensate personnel per guidelines.
• Ensure safe working conditions at each job site.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and costs.
• Schedule and conduct safety meetings and document attendees and topics.
• Maintain necessary records and manage inventory of supplies.
• Operate equipment as necessary and comply with all laws and company policies.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
