Job summary

GXO Logistics in Houston, TX seeks an experienced Logistics Manager to lead warehouse operations, quality programs and safety initiatives. You will mentor supervisors, drive continuous improvement, and align with Lean practices to meet performance goals.

The role requires 4 years of managerial experience, AS9100/ISO exposure, and strong command of Lean Six Sigma methods along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and scanning equipment.

Qualifications

  • 4 years of managerial/supervisory experience.
  • Experience with AS9100 or ISO environments.
  • Lean, Six Sigma and Continuous Process Improvement knowledge.
  • Experience warehousing or 3PL.

  • Communicate with customers, vendors and team members to ensure commitments are met.
  • Demonstrate understanding of GXO quality policies; establish procedures for maintaining quality objectives.
  • Provide guidance to supervisors with respect to personnel, quality and safety.
  • Hire, train, develop and appraise staff effectively.
  • Make recommendations on programs to improve operations.
  • Handle equipment and coordinate all maintenance needs with the maintenance team.
  • Ensure records are maintained appropriately and reports are completed in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to and enforce all safe work practices, ensuring the warehouse is compliant with OSHA and other standards/regulations.

Job description

  • Hire, train, develop and appraise staff effectively

  • Handle equipment and coordinate all maintenance needs with the maintenance team
  • Ensure records are maintained appropriately and reports are completed in a timely manner
  • Adhere to and enforce all safe work practices, ensuring the warehouse is compliant with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and other pertinent standards/regulations
Requirements
  • 4 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and computerized scanner equipment
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule as needed, including planned and unplanned overtime, which may include weekends
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics or a related field
  • 4 years of managerial/supervisory experience
  • Experience in an AS9100 or ISO environment
  • Lean, Six Sigma and Continuous Process Improvement knowledge and experienceExperience in warehousing or Third-Party Logistics (3PL)
  • Ability to maintain a safe work environment by monitoring and enforcing safety procedures across all departments
  • Strong problem-solving techniques and statistical analysis skills
