Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Math, Physics, Computer Science, or other relevant degree.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in product development, systems engineering, or work related to software/hardware connectivity.
  • Preferred experience translating physical phenomena into mathematical/Simulink models (electrical, mechanical, and software I/O).
  • Proficiency with Matlab/Simulink or similar software that uses code-based logic for model-based simulation.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop high-fidelity component plant models in MATLAB/Simulink that emulate the electrical, mechanical/physics, and software interfaces of GVHE hardware components.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to translate hardware designs into modeling requirements.
  • Implement plant models for GM CoSim environments (e.g., FMU export) with correct I/O definitions and signal naming.
  • Parameterize, correlate, and improve model fidelity using supplier specs, design data, and test results.
  • Support integration of component plant models into larger system and vehicle-level co-simulation environments.
  • Use plant models as virtual testers to run what-if studies and fault scenarios.
