Qualifications

• ADN or BSN from an accredited BSN Completion Program required; MSN preferred.
• Two or more years RN experience, or one or more years RN experience in area of specialty.
• Licensed as an RN in state of practice; BLS certification required within 90 days; ACLS/PALS/PEARS/NRP as per unit requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and coordinates nursing unit education and orientation programs to support staff development and competency.
• Mentor for new employees and new graduate nurses through programs such as the new grad support group and the preceptor group.
• Develops annual educational calendars and updates offerings throughout the year.
• Coordinates outside consultants and trainers for topic-specific training.
• Plans and hosts unit-based skills validations and participates in house-wide education.]
• Maintains class evaluations and supports monthly newsletters and evidence-based practice initiatives.
