Job summary

University of Tennessee, Knoxville is seeking a Simulation IT Specialist to support our simulation labs. This role ensures day-to-day management and readiness of simulation technologies, including high‑fidelity manikins, AV recording, and secure storage servers.

You will train faculty and staff on proper use and ensure reliable operation across programs. Responsibilities include coordinating vendor service contracts, performing equipment maintenance, and serving as a liaison with manufacturers

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree.
• Experience: 3+ years’ IT support.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis without need for visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Manages and maintains simulation technology.
• Coordinates management of vendor service contracts including service requests and communications with technicians.
• Performs test runs on manikins and updates equipment, including preventative maintenance.
• Partners with Sim Team to set up & break down simulation labs.
• Maintains inventory of Simulation IT supplies and technology needs.
• Maintains communication and logistics for manikin and equipment warranties and service contracts with vendors.
• Maintain data security and confidentiality in accordance with policies and guidelines.
• Manages HITS server maintenance of video files including backups of course and grant recordings.
• Serves as a liaison between the simulation center and manufacturers regarding troubleshooting and system problems.
