Job summary

Union Pacific Railroad in Blair, NE is seeking a Signal System Technician to ensure the safety and efficiency of railroad operations. You will conduct signal testing per FRA and UP requirements and lead installation, repair, and maintenance of signals and crossing devices.

The role requires a valid driver's license, strong English communication, and the ability to interpret both technical and non-technical information.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid drivers license.
• Ability to read and interpret both non-technical and technical information.
• Computer literacy and basic keyboarding skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Understand and follow safety rules and practices.
• English communication required, in-person and remote.
• Able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct signal system testing per FRA and UP requirements.
• Install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain railroad signals and crossing devices.
• Inspect signal circuitry, equipment, and systems and address defects.
• Lead installation tasks and excavation for signal infrastructure.
• Ensure safety and compliance with FRA rules and regulations.
• Coordinate with team members, supervisors, contractors, and customers.
