The Designer translates client concepts and brand requirements into pre-sale and production-ready artwork, working closely with sales, project management, and fabrication teams to ensure compliant, manufacturable designs. The role blends creative design with technical production, emphasizing scale, material specs, mounting methods, and file preparation for CNC routers,

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, industrial or production related design.
• Knowledge and experience in fabrication; metalwork and/or signs.
• Proficient in Corel Draw, and knowledge of or willing to learn Solid Works.
• Strong math skills and attention to detail for design accuracy.
• Working knowledge of field measurements and scale for design.

Responsibilities

• Process new design requests from sales department.
• Communicate effectively with sales staff, customers, and team members to verify accuracy of information.
• Develop designs based on customer needs, budget, and fabrication/installation practices.
• Elaborate on client’s design intent in relation to our scopes of work.
• Collaborate with estimating to integrate design and budget.
• Update drawings to reflect changes and revisions.
• Communicate changes to appropriate team members.
• Maintain accuracy between customer approved designs and production designs.
• Create and maintain sign standards/brand guideline documents for multi-location programs.
• Maintain design accuracy and add in-depth details for production of signage.
• Interpret drawings to add specifications prior to production, including installation methods.
• Provide internal information for fabrication purposes.
• Create designs based on project management, production and installation needs.
• Prepare take-off documents including materials and cut lists as requested.
• Maintain persistent communication with internal customers for handoff of deliverables.
• Respond to inquiries in a pleasant and timely manner.
• Maintain professional behavior with staff, vendors, and clients.
• Attend safety and company meetings; continue education on software.
• Stay current with design and industry trends.
