Job summary

Mustang Signs in Kennewick, WA seeks an experienced Commercial Sign Designer to own the design process from concept through production. You will develop creative solutions, prepare detailed production artwork, and collaborate with sales, project managers, fabrication, and installation teams to ensure designs are accurate and buildable.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional sign design experience in signage graphics.
• Advanced proficiency with Adobe Illustrator and related design software.
• Portfolio demonstrating high-level commercial signage design.
• Deep understanding of sign design, fabrication, materials, and production processes.
• Ability to create concept-driven and production-ready artwork.
• Strong typography, color, composition, and visual communication knowledge.
• Ability to read architectural drawings and site plans.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of custom commercial signage from concept through production.
• Develop creative solutions and production artwork for fabrication and installation.
• Collaborate with sales, project managers, fabrication, and installation teams.
• Create production-ready drawings and artwork for fabrication.
• Develop proofs and renderings to communicate design concepts clearly.
• Apply typography, layout, color, scale, and materials expertise.
• Review site information, measurements, and photos to inform design.
• Perform site surveys and document conditions for design accuracy.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure on-time delivery.
• Identify production or installation issues early and propose solutions.
• Manage a high volume of design projects with quality and deadlines.
• Review and approve design work before release to production.
• Help establish design standards and best practices for growth.
