HealthPRO Pediatrics in Leonardtown, Maryland is seeking a full-time, certified Sign Language Interpreter to support students in an in-person educational setting. Qualifications

• Meet all applicable state requirements for Sign Language Interpreter certification or licensure.
• National certification through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) preferred.
• Strong receptive and expressive ASL skills.
• Ability to accurately interpret spoken and signed communication while maintaining context, meaning, and confidentiality.
• Strong memory, attention to detail, and communication skills.
• Commitment to ongoing continuing education and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Providing in-person American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting services for students in an educational setting.
• Facilitating communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and teachers, peers, school staff, and other individuals.
• Accurately interpreting spoken language into ASL and ASL into spoken English while maintaining the intended meaning and context.
• Supporting student access to classroom instruction, educational activities, meetings, and other school-related interactions.
• Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to professional standards and ethical guidelines.
• Collaborating with educators and other members of the educational team to support student communication needs.
• Preparing for assignments by reviewing relevant educational materials and terminology as appropriate.
• Participating in meetings or professional development activities as required.
