ProCare Therapy is seeking a Sign Language Interpreter to support a vibrant high school student in a full-time contract position. The role focuses on real-time ASL-English interpretation across classes, activities, and athletics to empower communication and inclusion.

The schedule runs about 37.5 hours per week, from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with collaboration among teachers, coaches, and support staff to create an accessible academic environment.

Qualifications

• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) with strong interpreting skills.
• Prior interpreting experience in educational or youth-centered settings.
• Knowledge of high school subject matter and classroom routines.
• Ability to adapt communication style to accommodate an energetic student and classroom dynamics.
• Professionalism, dependability, and discretion.
• National certification (EIPA, RID) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide real-time interpretation between spoken English and ASL for a high school student across academic classes, school activities, and athletic involvement.
• Collaborate with educators, support staff, and coaches to optimize accessibility and communication.
• Adapt interpreting methods for classroom lectures, group projects, one-on-one instruction, and extracurricular events.
• Encourage the students participation while fostering independence and advocacy skills.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional conduct standards at all times.

Job description

Make a real impact by supporting a vibrant and engaged high school student as a Sign Language Interpreter in a stimulating educational setting. This full-time contract position places you in an exciting environment where your expertise will empower communication, facilitate inclusion, and ensure academic success.

You will work closely with a dynamic high schooler, who participates in football and maintains an active presence both in and outside the classroom. Enjoy a consistent schedule of approximately 37.5 hours per week, from 8 AM to 3:30 PM, making a difference each school day.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, especially in educational or youth-centered environments
