Job summary

Critical Systems, Inc. in Boise, Idaho seeks an experienced PLC Programmer to turn SOOs into Siemens TIA Portal projects. You’ll own end-to-end development, testing, commissioning, and startup support while leveraging AI tools like Siemens Eigen Engineering Agent to accelerate code generation and documentation.

You’ll collaborate with engineering, electrical, and production teams to create state‑of‑the‑art control systems and ensure robust operations in fast-paced industrial environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on PLC programming experience.
• Fluency with Siemens’ TIA Portal.
• Experience with other programming platforms is a plus.
• Ability to write and deliver PLC projects from start to finish without supervision.
• Passion for using AI to accelerate product delivery.
• Mastery of tools like Siemens Eigen Engineering Agent and related prod-dev tools.
• Open-minded, team-first mentality.
• Willingness to take input and implement team-approved direction quickly.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret a Sequence of Operation and independently write a complete PLC program in TIA Portal.
• Own projects end-to-end: development, simulation, testing, commissioning, startup support.
• Develop and deploy new contract-manufactured controllers for third parties.
• Use AI tools to accelerate code generation, tagging, configuration, and documentation with system-wide review.
• Collaborate with Siemens engineering and support teams to develop AI tech.
• Configure Siemens hardware and networks and develop or modify HMI screens.
• Collaborate with CSI engineers, electricians, technicians, production, and customers to create efficient control systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues during testing and commissioning.
• Establish retrievable project files to organize input, comments, and docs.
