Baptist Health Shelby Hospital in Alabaster, AL is seeking a Clinical Assistant Nurse Manager (CANM) to lead daily shift operations in a fast-paced acute care setting. You will supervise staffing, ensure timely patient flow, and uphold quality care while coordinating with nursing leadership.

The CANM role emphasizes collaboration, mentorship, and adherence to policies to deliver excellent patient experiences and outcomes.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in good standing and active practice.
• Minimum one year of RN experience in an acute care setting; leadership preferred.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS/PALS/NRP certifications may be required based on unit.
• BSN preferred for CANM role and advancement within nursing leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead shift operations to ensure high-quality patient care and customer experience.
• Manage staffing assignments based on patient acuity and team skills.
• Coordinate patient flow with Supervisors, Care Coordinators and Discharge Planners.
• Monitor patient status, especially for severely ill patients; ensure compliance with orders and policies.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to nursing staff and foster collaboration across the unit.
