Job summary

Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital in Homewood, Alabama, seeks a Clinical Assistant Nurse Manager (CANM) to lead Baylor weekend nights in the Surgical ICU. The CANM oversees shift operations, patient care assignments, and staff collaboration to ensure high-quality care and optimal patient flow.

The role partners with Nursing Operations leadership, supports front-line teams, and ensures compliance with policies while focusing on patient experience and safety.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred.
• RN license in Alabama or NLC.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead shift operations to ensure high-quality care and patient flow.
• Coordinate patient flow with Administrative Supervisors, Care Coordinators, and Discharge Planners.
• Monitor patient status and ensure care meets physician orders and standards.
• Support frontline team and providers as appropriate.
• Promote safety and problem solving during shifts.
• Ensure staff have necessary equipment and assist with retention strategies.
