Job summary

National University of Natural Medicine seeks a detail‑oriented SIBO Center Laboratory Operations support person to oversee daily activities, billing, shipping, and data management on site in Portland, OR. The role focuses on policies, documentation, and quality customer service in a busy clinical setting.

You will handle billing data entry, monthly closures, kit processing, and clerical duties while ensuring compliance with licensure and prescribing authority policies for providers.

Qualifications

• Associates degree and minimally 1 year of experience in the laboratory field, or equivalent education/experience.
• Word, Excel and database skills required; EMR and LIS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer service situations with a positive, friendly, professional demeanor.
• Process billing for patients and providers, including data entry, payment reconciliation, and receipts.
• Set up bulk ordering systems and manage billing/shipping of bulk orders.
• Manage monthly billing, patient tracking, and invoices; support insurance billing workflows.
• Run month-end financial reports and consolidate data from payments and orders.
• Ship and receive SIBO kits; generate shipping labels and manage logs.
• Process kit returns and manage related refunds; entry data into LogBook.
• Answer phone inquiries, route questions, and maintain orderly records.
• Maintain supplies, update website content as needed, and organize filing systems.
• Establish licensure and prescribing authority policies for providers ordering tests.
