Job summary

Fairmont State University seeks dependable Shuttle Van Drivers to transport students and staff between campus facilities, residence halls, and parking areas. You will follow schedules, ensure safety, perform vehicle inspections, and assist passengers with boarding while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism on campus.

Shifts include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and events. Base pay is $25.00 per hour; reporting to the Student Affairs department on Main Campus, Fairmont.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate university shuttle vans along assigned campus routes.

• Conduct vehicle safety inspections before/after each shift.
• Assist passengers with boarding and exiting as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe shuttle environment.
• Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
• Provide accurate route and schedule information.
• Respond to emergencies or incidents as needed.
• Complete trip logs and transportation documentation.

Shuttle Van Drivers

The University is seeking dependable, safety-conscious Shuttle Van Drivers to provide reliable transportation for students between campus facilities, residence halls, parking areas, and other designated university locations. Shuttle Van Drivers play an important role in supporting student access, safety, and mobility across campus.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate university shuttle vans along assigned campus routes.
• Transport students, faculty, staff, and authorized passengers in a courteous and professional manner.
• Follow established routes, schedules, traffic laws, and university transportation policies.
• Conduct required vehicle safety inspections before and after each shift.
• Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly shuttle environment.
• Monitor and report vehicle maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
• Provide accurate information about routes, stops, schedules, and campus locations.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies, accidents, or other unusual situations.
• Complete required trip logs, incident reports, and other transportation documentation.
• Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism when interacting with students and members of the university community

Minimum Required Education
