Job summary

Avalon Transportation in Santa Cruz is seeking a dependable Shuttle Driver to join our on-campus program. You’ll drive 28-passenger mini-buses and 35-ft motorcoaches, deliver safe, courteous service, and enjoy a stable Monday–Friday full-time schedule in a premium work environment.

Requirements: Valid Class B CDL with Passenger endorsement (air brakes a plus), 2 years of commercial driving, ability to pass a DOT physical, pre-employment drug screen, and background check.

Qualifications

• Valid Class B CDL with Passenger endorsement; air brakes not required (but a plus).
• 2 years of commercial driving experience.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical, pre-employment drug screen, and background check.
• Fluent English with a courteous, customer-first attitude.
• Professional appearance and clean, safe driving record.
• Ability to use GPS and electronic logging (HOS) apps.

Responsibilities

• Drive campus shuttle routes (18–28 passenger vehicles) safely and on schedule.
• Provide excellent passenger service and maintain a positive demeanor.
• No heavy lifting; focus on safe driving, fueling, and vehicle checks.
• Utilize GPS/ELD systems to maintain compliance and efficiency.

The Role

• Predictable Schedule: Enjoy your weekends! This is a Full-Time, Monday through Friday position.
• Streamlined Duties: Your focus is on safe driving and passenger service. No heavy lifting, no ticketing, and no vehicle "dumping"-your only maintenance responsibility is fueling.
• Local Route: All routes start and end right here in Santa Cruz.

What You’ll Need (Requirements)

• License: Valid Class B CDL
• Endorsements: Passenger endorsement required - but air brakes NOT required (but are a plus)
• Experience: 2 years of commercial driving experience required
