Job summary

SA Recycling is seeking a hard-working Shredder Supervisor in Los Angeles, CA to lead shredding operations in partnership with the General Manager. You will oversee production, maintenance scheduling, and staff supervision to meet daily goals in varying weather.

You will mentor personnel, generate reports, manage budgets for shredder operations, and ensure compliance with EH&S standards. This role requires problem solving, teamwork and strong communication in a safety–m-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; Associate or Bachelor’s preferred.
• 3–5 years’ shredder operations experience in scrap metal or related industry.
• 2+ years shredder supervisory experience required.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills (written and verbal).
• Bi-lingual English & Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Directs production and maintenance scheduling across multiple shifts to meet goals and minimize downtime.
• Mentors, leads, and trains all personnel assigned to the shredder.
• Prepares production, operational and maintenance reports as scheduled.
• Participates in shredder budgets and recommends capital expenditures.
• Performs daily inspections and reports.
• Maintains inventory levels for parts and repairs.
• Backs up General Manager with training, EHS audits, and inspections.
