Job summary

Dal-Tile Corp. is actively seeking a Showroom Design Consultant to provide interior design guidance and product expertise within our showroom. You will influence sales by assisting with tile and stone selection, coordinating detailed notes, and following up with clients to close deals.

The role requires effective communication, merchandising, and active participation in events and trade shows. Evenings and Saturdays are part of the schedule to meet showroom demand.

Qualifications

• A four-year degree in a related field, four years of related experience, or a combination of a two-year degree with two years of related experience.
• Competencies: Sales/Customer engagement/Customer service, Design/sketching/reading blueprints/color coordination/interior design trends/customer buying habits/creative thinking.
• Ability to approach unfamiliar situations and conceptualize innovative and imaginative solutions for clients.
• Computer skills – MS Office, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint – Customer management tools a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provides interior design advice and product expertise, facilitates tile and stone selection, and project development/support, ensuring selection/sales completion.
• Logs all client showroom visits, contact information, and detailed customer preferences/selection notes in CMT; communicates with customers and team to follow up and close sales.
• Prospects for new business with Custom Builders and Residential Designers; makes outside sales calls and logs visits/notes in CMT.
• Maintains showroom samples and merchandising, including ordering, receiving, and maintaining models and displays; ships customer samples as needed.
• Plans and hosts showroom tours and events for industry trade to drive sales; attends outside trade events to develop industry relationships.
• Evening and weekend hours are required.
