Job summary

Cantoni showroom in Irvine seeks a Design Assistant to support Sales Designers and the General Manager, help maintain the resource room, catalogs, and samples, and ensure the showroom presentation is always ready.

The DA will assist with client visits, floor plans, 3D/PowerPoint presentations, and coordination with vendors. Strong organization and CAD/Microsoft Office skills are required.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 1 year demonstrated experience in related field.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites and CAD.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills with all levels of management and staff.
• Strategic written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with demonstrated written communications.
• Knowledge of computer programs in support of department functions.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist clients in the showroom or via telephone, including pickups, payments on account, or assistance with purchases.
• Ensure the UP board is handled correctly and designers are back in rotation after client interactions.
• Handle incoming calls and direct to the appropriate party, ensuring proper client assistance.
• Manage swatches and materials on loan process.
• Complete updates from buying department and inform designers of changes/updates to merchandise/vendors.
• Keep catalog/resource room organized and presentation-ready; ensure supplies are stocked for designers.
• Coordinate with Corporate partners to complete design operational processes.
• Assist designers with projects, floor plans, entering sales, and creating PowerPoint/3D presentations per Cantoni guidelines.
• Assist designers on deliveries/house calls/installations and support on-site activities.
• Perform opening/closing procedures on days worked and communicate with vendors as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
