Role Description The Short Order Cook is a part-time, hourly, on-site role based at Morgantown Elks Lodge #411 in the Greater Morgantown Area. This role is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of short-order menu items such as sandwiches, burgers, wings, salads, and daily specials in a timely and consistent manner. Day-to-day tasks include setting up and breaking down cooking stations, following standardized recipes, ensuring proper food handling and storage, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. The Short Order Cook will collaborate with front-of-house staff to fulfill orders accurately, respond to special requests when possible, and provide courteous service to lodge members and guests. The role also involves monitoring inventory levels, assisting with ordering or restocking, and adhering to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Food Preparation and Cooking, including short-order techniques and working with a variety of menu items.
• Experience with Food Service operations, such as coordinating ticket times, plating dishes, and supporting busy service periods.
• Knowledge of Food Safety practices, including safe food handling, temperature control, and kitchen sanitation standards.
• Effective Customer Service abilities, including polite interaction with members and guests and responsiveness to special requests.
• Previous experience as a short order cook, line cook, or in a similar kitchen role preferred.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, work in a fast-paced environment, and lift moderate weights as needed.
• Reliability in punctuality and attendance, with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and special events.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; formal culinary training is a plus but not required.
