Job summary

WSP USA seeks a Shore Power Electrical Engineer to join our team with opportunities in Arlington, VA, Overland Park, KS and other U.S. locations.

You will shape electrical designs for shore power systems, deliver schematics, perform standards-based calculations, and coordinate with clients and other disciplines to ensure project success. The role requires a 5+ year track record, ABET-accredited degree, and eligibility for PE registration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited college or university.
• 5+ years of post-education experience as an electrical engineer delivering design for capital projects.
• Ability to obtain Professional Engineering registration within one year if not licensed.
• US citizenship is required.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70, NFPA 101, NFPA 780 and related standards.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; experience with power systems tools (ETAP/SKM/EasyPower).
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Design shore power systems from concept through construction.
• Develop electrical design deliverables: diagrams, schematics, wiring, layouts.
• Perform NEC/NESC/IEEE calculations and coordination studies.
• Coordinate with clients, disciplines, sub-consultants, and vendors.
• Support permitting, construction inspections, and project delivery.
