Position Overview

This position is responsible for repairing construction machines, component assemblies, and parts in the shop. Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, ordering parts, writing technical reports, warranty reporting, maintaining company assets, and effective communication with team members.

Responsibilities:
  1. Repair equipment and components, including:
  • Developing repair plans and sequences
  • Determining necessary parts, materials, and tooling
  • Performing repairs safely and correctly, with quality assurance testing of components, systems, and machines
  • Complete reports for parts ordering, tooling, daily service, and work orders in a timely and legible manner
  • Communicate repair progress with supervisors
  • Manage parts and materials through the company's ordering system
  • Maintain and return special tools and equipment properly, including shop assets like air compressors, cleaning tanks, and cranes
  • Use company vehicles and fuel cards responsibly
  • Keep the work area safe and clean
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good condition
  • Follow all company policies and safety guidelines
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the manager
Education, Experience, and Skills:

High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, or an Associate Degree in Diesel or Equipment Technology, or four years of apprenticeship experience. Technician classification depends on experience, knowledge, and competence.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and use hands for handling and feeling. Also required to reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, lift, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear. Reasonable accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities.

Work Environment:

Frequently exposed to wet/humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. Occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, weather extremes, and vibration. Noise levels are moderate to loud.
