Job Summary

This position is responsible for repairing construction machines, component assemblies, and parts both in the shop and in the field. Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, ordering parts, writing technical reports, warranty reporting, maintaining company assets, and effective communication with team members.

Responsibilities

• Repair equipment and components, including developing repair plans and sequences.
• Determine necessary parts, materials, tooling, etc.
• Perform repairs safely and properly, with quality assurance testing of repaired components, systems, and machines.
• Complete reports legibly and promptly for parts ordering, tooling usage, daily service, and work completion.
• Communicate repair progress with supervisors.
• Manage parts and materials through the company's ordering system.
• Handle special tools and maintain shop equipment properly.
• Use company vehicle, service truck, and fuel cards responsibly.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and vehicle.
• Keep tools in good condition and follow all safety and company policies.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Education, Experience, Skills

High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required. An Associate Degree in Diesel or Equipment Technology or four years of apprenticeship experience is preferred. Technician classification depends on experience, knowledge, and competence.

Physical Demands

This role requires sitting, standing, walking, using hands, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, lifting, crouching, crawling, talking, and hearing. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.

Work Environment

Employees will frequently encounter wet/humid conditions and moving mechanical parts, and occasionally fumes, airborne particles, outdoor weather, extreme temperatures, and vibration. Noise levels are moderate to loud.
