Position Overview

This position is responsible for repairing construction machines, component assemblies, and parts in the shop. Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, ordering parts, writing technical reports, warranty reporting, maintaining company assets, and effective communication with team members.

Responsibilities:

1. Repair equipment and components by developing repair plans, determining necessary parts, materials, and tooling, and performing repairs safely and properly, including quality assurance testing.
2. Complete reports related to parts ordering, tooling usage, daily service activities, and work order closures in a timely and legible manner.
3. Communicate repair progress with supervisors as needed.
4. Manage parts and materials retrieval and return through the company's parts ordering system.
5. Handle special tools and maintain shop equipment, including air compressors, cleaning tanks, and cranes.
6. Operate company vehicles and fuel cards responsibly.
7. Maintain a safe and clean work environment, including tools and tool carriers.
8. Follow all company policies and safety guidelines.
9. Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Education, Experience, and Skills

High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required. An Associate Degree in Diesel or Equipment Technology or four years of apprenticeship experience is preferred. Technician classification depends on experience, knowledge, and competence.

Physical Demands

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and use hands for handling objects. Also required are reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, lifting, crouching, crawling, talking, and hearing. Reasonable accommodations can be provided for individuals with disabilities.

Work Environment

Frequent exposure to wet/humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. Occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, weather extremes, and vibration. Noise level ranges from moderate to loud.
