Job Summary:

This position is responsible for repairing construction machines, component assemblies, and parts in the shop and field. Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, ordering parts, writing technical reports, warranty reporting, maintaining company assets, and effective communication with team members.

Responsibilities:
  1. Repair equipment and components, including developing repair plans and sequences.
  2. Determine necessary parts, materials, tooling, etc.
  3. Perform repairs safely and properly, conducting quality assurance testing of repaired components, systems, and machines.
  4. Complete reports for parts ordering, tooling usage, daily service, and work orders in a timely and legible manner.
  5. Communicate repair progress with supervisors as required.
  6. Manage parts and materials through the company's ordering system.
  7. Handle special tools and maintain proper care of shop equipment and tools.
  8. Use company vehicles and fuel cards responsibly.
  9. Maintain a safe and clean work environment and keep tools and equipment in good condition.
  10. Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  11. Perform additional tasks as assigned by the manager.
Education, Experience, and Skills:

High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required. An Associate Degree in Diesel or Equipment Technology or four years of apprenticeship experience is preferred. Technician classification depends on experience, knowledge, and competence.

Physical Demands:

The role requires sitting, standing, walking, and manual handling activities such as reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, lifting, and crawling. Good communication skills are also necessary. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.

Work Environment:

Employees may be exposed to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, outdoor weather, extreme temperatures, and vibration. The noise level is moderate to loud.
