Job summary

Aggreko plc is seeking a Shop Technician 1- Power based in Baltimore, MD, to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment and oil-free air compressors. You will troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and contribute to onsite reliability.

The role requires 4+ years of experience with power generators or commercial HVAC, a valid driver's license, and possible TWIC or DOT medical credentials depending on

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience working on power generators and/or commercial HVAC equipment, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
• Experience with calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements, along with reading and knowing schematics.
• Based on the customer requirements, you may be required to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card
• Valid driver's license

What you'll do:

• You'll be based out of our Baltimore, MD. service center.

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment and/or oil free air compressors.

• Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop.

You are:

• High School diploma/GED

• 4+ years of experience working on power generators and/or commercial HVAC equipment, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs.

• Experience with calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements, along with reading and knowing schematics.

• Based on the customer requirements, you may be required to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card

• Valid driver's license

• Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 75 lbs.

• Availability to work the assigned schedule, travel to work locations (if needed) and be on standby for work outside of regularly scheduled shifts

• Must be able to stand, walk and sit for prolonged periods of time; and be able to walk over uneven terrain with functional balance that does not require any special assistive devices

• Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that will permit work to be safely performed from ground / floor level to full overhead level

• Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items, functional hand-eye coordination, and functionally grip with adequate strength to safely hold tools and stair railing or ladders

• Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, which includes being able to lift (60 lbs), push/pull (80 lbs), carry (60 lbs), climb stairs and ladders as well as a combination of climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs), stoop, kneel and squat
