Job summary

RESA Power is seeking a Shop Technician in Cerritos, CA to support the mechanical assembly, fabrication, modification, and repair of low- and medium-voltage switchboards and switchgear. This hands-on role requires strong mechanical aptitude and frequent use of hand and power tools in a busy shop setting.

The ideal candidate will follow work orders and drawings, perform inspections, and assist with retrofits and modernization projects under guidance from Shop Leadership.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1 year of hands-on mechanical or fabrication experience.
• Ability to read work orders and drawings.
• Experience with tool safety and shop practices.
• Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical assembly, disassembly, modification, and repair of switchboards and switchgear.
• Read and follow work orders, specifications, drawings, prints, and assembly instructions.
• Inspect equipment for defects and verify parts.
• Assemble and install components, brackets, enclosures, and related assemblies.
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Document work and communicate issues to Shop Leadership.
• Maintain a clean, safe shop environment.
• Assist with loading/unloading and shipping prep.
