Job summary

RESA Power is seeking a Sr. Shop Tech to receive and execute work assignments, support shop operations, and complete customer orders in a dynamic field service environment.

Responsibilities include inspecting equipment, troubleshooting and repairing electrical gear such as transformers, switchgear, and breakers; preparing test reports; and mentoring junior techs. Candidates need 5+ years experience and OSHA/NETA/IEEE/NFPA knowledge.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field.
• Knowledge of safety standards such as OSHA and any state safety standards
• Knowledge of industry standards such as NETA, OSHA, IEEE and NFPA
• Proven mechanical skills and/or experience with different types of low and high voltage equipment
• Able to effectively problem solve
• Basic computer skills for data entry, looking up information, and/or creating reports
• Able to communicate oral and written communication skills; follow directions and work in a team environment
• Customer Focused—able to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects

Responsibilities

• Receive and carry out work assignments from management and internal customers.
• Inspect incoming equipment for defects and ensure quality standards.
• Troubleshoot, test, maintain, and repair electrical equipment including transformers, switchgear, and breakers.
• Complete test reports per company and customer standards and timelines.
• Mentor and train Shop Techs as directed.
• Work nights and weekends as needed to meet business demands.
• Provide offsite technical support as required.
