Job summary

Martin Sprocket & Gear, Inc. is seeking a skilled Shop Supervisor in Danielsville, PA to lead a manufacturing department on the 1st shift. You will oversee daily operations, ensure safety and quality, coach staff, and drive continuous improvement on the shop floor.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of supervision in manufacturing, familiarity with welding/fabrication or machining, and strong communication across all levels. Competitive benefits and a stable, family‑owned employer await.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Preferred experience in welding, metal fabrication, or machining, with the ability to read blueprints.
• Demonstrated ability to motivate, guide, and develop team members to achieve goals.
• Shop floor presence with ~2/3 shift oversight of operations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with shop employees, office staff, supervisors, managers, and executives.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the department, ensuring efficient workflow and safety compliance.
• Oversee employee performance, coaching, feedback, and evaluations.
• Assist with onboarding and training of new employees and ongoing skill development.
• Expedite and prioritize shop orders to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
• Collaborate with management and other departments to optimize manufacturing, fabrication, and assembly processes.
• Ensure machines and work areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained; address safety concerns promptly.
• Identify and implement operational efficiencies and continuous improvement opportunities.
• Address production or personnel issues promptly to avoid disruptions.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, quality standards, and industry regulations.
