Job summary

Martin Sprocket & Gear is seeking a CNC Shop Supervisor to lead a high-precision production team in a fast-paced environment. You will set up and run CNC lathes, manage daily department operations, coach staff, and drive training and performance initiatives.

You will prioritize orders, collaborate across departments, and uphold safety standards while driving continuous improvement and compliance with quality requirements. The role is a 2nd shift position with strong team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in CNC programming, CNC operation, and machining; ability to read blueprints.
• Ability to maintain a strong presence on the shop floor and lead safety and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• CNC operation: set up and operate CNC lathe machines and related tasks.
• Department oversight: manage daily workflow, safety, time-keeping and performance.
• Employee management: coach, feedback, and evaluations to improve productivity.
• Training: onboard and develop staff with ongoing education.
• Order management: prioritize and expedite shop orders to meet schedules.
• Cross-department coordination: collaborate with management and other teams.
• Safety and maintenance: ensure clean, safe work areas and address safety concerns promptly.
• Process improvement: identify and implement efficiency opportunities.
• Problem solving: resolve production or personnel issues swiftly.
• Compliance: ensure adherence to policies, quality standards, and regulations.
