Job summary

WSG Energy Services is seeking an experienced pipe welder to join our fabrication team. You will read isometrics and piping drawings, fit and weld carbon steel and stainless piping systems, and ensure welds meet project specifications.

You will work with SMAW and GTAW (TIG) processes, complete root, fill, and cap welds, verify fit-up, and assist with hydrotest preparation while maintaining quality records and adhering to ASME B31.1/B31.3 standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of industrial pipe welding experience preferred.
• Ability to pass a 2" 6G pipe welding test.
• Working knowledge of ASME B31.1 and/or B31.3 standards.
• Experience with SMAW and GTAW welding processes.
• Ability to read piping isometrics and fabrication drawings.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret isometric drawings, spool sheets, and piping specs.
• Fit and weld carbon steel and stainless piping systems.
• Weld using SMAW, GTAW (TIG), and MIG as required.
• Complete root, fill, and cap welds to project specs.
• Verify fit-up, alignment, and dimensions before welding.
• Assist with hydrotest preparation and pipe fabrication activities.
• Safely operate grinders, cutting equipment, beveling tools, and welding equipment.
• Maintain welding records and documentation.
• Follow applicable ASME and client quality requirements.
• Maintain housekeeping and assist with material handling in the shop.
