Design Solutions & Integration is seeking a skilled Single Hand Welder to join our manufacturing team in Alabama. The ideal candidate must be proficient in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and capable of passing a 6G welding test for pipe welding in all positions.

The role requires interpretation of blueprints, welding symbols, and adherence to safety standards while producing high-quality welds across various environments, including cold weather or confined spaces.

Qualifications

• Must pass a 6G SMAW welding test prior to employment.
• Minimum 3 years of welding experience (pipe welding preferred).
• Proficiency in welding techniques, including stick welding (SMAW). (TGAW would be a plus).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Must have or be willing to test for necessary welding certifications as required.
• Ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions if required.

Responsibilities

• Perform SMAW welding on various materials, primarily carbon pipe welding in the 6G position. Stainless Steel TGAW would be a plus.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding procedures.
• Ensure compliance with industry safety standards and company policies.
• Inspect and test welds to maintain quality control.
• Operate welding and cutting equipment safely and effectively.
• Work in a variety of environments, including cold weather, confined spaces or elevated positions.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete projects efficiently.
