Job summary

OPW Clean Energy Solutions is seeking a fabricator/welder to lay out, fit, and weld piping and structural components for spool pieces and vacuum jacketed systems, following drawings and specs. You will setup equipment, weld in 6G positions, inspect bead size, and assemble final spool pieces while adhering to ASME code requirements; high school diploma and 3+ years experience preferred.

• Welding in various positions per job requirements.
• Ability to read sketches, blueprints, or instructions.
• Proven ability to fabricate from drawings or specs.

Responsibilities

• Selects equipment and plans layout, assembles, and welds.
• Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together.
• Fabricates from sketches, blueprints or instruction.
• Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding.
• Sets up equipment and welds parts using TIG, arc, submerged arc welding.
• Repairs/reworks products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
• Uses hand and power tools to perform work.
• Examines weld for bead size and other visual specifications.
• Lays out, positions, and tack welds work pieces for fit-up.
• Welds along vertical or overhead weld lines.
• Chips or grinds off excess weld, slag, or spatter.
• Assembles completed spool pieces into final assemblies per drawings and spec sheets.
• May qualify for ASME Code welding as required.
