Job summary

OPW is seeking a skilled welder to lay out, fit, and weld piping and structural components for cryogenic and industrial gas systems. You will work from sketches and drawings, perform arc and TIG welding, and ensure assemblies meet ASME standards.

The role requires 3+ years of welding experience and the ability to handle 6G positions. This full-time position offers a competitive hourly rate, with a discretionary bonus opportunity, and a focus on safe, high-quality fabrication in a manufacturing

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; technical school preferred.
• 3+ years of welding-related experience or training.
• Ability to weld in 6G position preferred.

Responsibilities

• Selects equipment and plans layout, assembles, and welds.
• Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components.
• Fabricates from sketches, blueprints or instructions.
• Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding.
• Sets up equipment and welds parts using arc, GTAW-TIG, submerged arc, or other welding processes.
• Repairs/reworks products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
• Uses hand and power tools to perform work.
• Examines weld bead size and other visual specifications.
• Lays out, positions, and tack welds work pieces for fit-up.
• Welds along vertical or overhead weld lines.
• Chips or grinds off excess weld, slag, or spatter.
• Assembles completed spool pieces into final assemblies per drawings and spec sheets.
• Be able to qualify for ASME Code welding as required.
