Job summary

GPC is seeking a Service Shop Manager to lead a skilled team in a high-output shop environment. You will plan, assign, and review production activities, coach operators, and ensure quality and safety standards are met on a daily basis.

The role involves overseeing schedules, equipment use, and process improvements while maintaining strong vendor and internal communications. Applicants should have extensive shop-floor leadership experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 10+ years related experience preferred.
• Experience leading shop teams and coordinating production schedules.
• Knowledge of metals, machining processes and quality control.
• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software; ability to read hydraulic schematics.
• Strong math skills and mechanical aptitude for manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and review production operations to meet output and quality targets.
• Hire, train, and coach a team of five or more shop employees.
• Develop production schedules and allocate labor, tools, and equipment.
• Ensure regulatory and safety compliance; maintain ISO and Motion Quality System.
• Evaluate and sign off on items leaving the shop; coordinate with vendors as needed.
