Job summary
Cogent is seeking an enthusiastic and dependable Shop Manager for its Riverside, Missouri shop to lead daily operations and drive safety, quality, and productivity. This Employee-Owned environment offers direct participation in company success and growth opportunities.
You will supervise a team of mechanics, oversee training, maintenance, and service processes, and ensure on-time repairs while upholding policies.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED is required.
- Proven ability to lead a team of mechanics and willingness to work overtime on short notice.
- Strong communication and organizational skills with a proactive, customer-focused attitude.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced environments and adapting quickly to changing priorities.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and provide technical, quality, and service leadership to the shop team.
- Train and ensure all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Mentor and motivate team in safety, quality, and productivity improvements.
- Coach and counsel employees regarding individual performance and development needs.
- Manage organization, safety, and maintenance of the shop facility.
- Guide service and repair processes including personnel requirements, material needs, facility needs, and tools and equipment.
- Ensure all established cost, quality, and delivery objectives and commitments are met.
- Establish quality control standards and obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products to be repaired.
- Take corrective measures to minimize downtime and interruption of schedules.
- Review repair and operating reports and direct resolution of operational, repair, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
