Cogent in Riverside, Missouri seeks a Field Service Controls Technician to service and maintain electrical controls equipment used in water and wastewater systems. You will install, startup, and calibrate process instrumentation and support pump control systems, including VFDs and soft starters.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, with technical schooling preferred, and a willingness to travel and respond as an Emergency Field Service Responder.

• Independently and collaboratively service and maintain electrical controls equipment commonly utilized in the water and wastewater industry.
• Perform installation, startup, and calibration of process instrumentation including flow meters, pressure transmitters, level, temperature, and analytical instrumentation.
• Execute startup, troubleshooting, retrofits, and repairs of pump control systems, including basic across-the-line control systems to soft starters, and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and specialty pump controllers.
• Conduct electrical wiring, conduit installations, and control panel setups, including complete service entrance equipment.
• Assist in planning, installing, repairing, and troubleshooting new or modified electrical systems.
• Act as an Emergency Field Service Responder, available to travel and work outside normal business hours as required.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

• High School diploma or GED is required; a degree from a Technical or Vocational School in Mechanics or Electronics is highly preferred.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot electrical control systems and willingness to work overtime on short notice.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with a proactive, customer-focused attitude.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced environments and adapting quickly to changing priorities.
• Basic proficiency with computer applications including Gmail, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
• Physical capability to lift and maneuver heavy objects, parts, equipment, and materials.
• Ability to work effectively under minimal supervision.
