Job summary

Lkjordan in South Houston, TX is seeking a dedicated Shop Helper to support our steel fabrication team on the 1st shift.

You will assist with processing orders, material handling, quality checks, and packing, while maintaining a safe, organized work area. Bilingual English/Spanish is highly preferred.

Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 lbs, read a tape measure, and operate basic shop equipment; forklift experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Shop Helper - Steel Fabrication South Houston, TX $17.50/Hour | Full-Time | 1st Shift

Our client is seeking a hardworking and reliable Shop Helper to join their steel fabrication team. This position is ideal for candidates with previous experience working in a steel warehouse, steel service center, metal fabrication shop, or structural steel environment. The successful candidate will assist with daily production operations, material handling, order preparation, and quality control while maintaining a safe and productive work environment. Bilingual English/Spanish candidates are highly preferred due to the company's customer base and workforce.

Responsibilities

• Assist with processing and preparing steel orders for production and shipment

Requirements

• Previous experience in steel fabrication, steel distribution, metal fabrication, or a related industrial environment required

• Basic math and measurement skills
• Ability to lift, carry, and move materials up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand, bend, reach, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
• Strong work ethic, attendance, and safety mindset
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Work Environment

This position is based in a fabrication shop and requires working around steel materials, machinery, and production equipment. Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial setting. Steel-toe boots are required.
