Job summary

AtWork Group in Matthews, NC is seeking a dependable Shop Helper / Painter / Fabricator to join a busy production team. This hands-on role supports steel fabrication, painting, material handling, assembly and general shop operations.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 4:30 AM–12:30 PM with overtime as needed; pay ranges from $24 to $28 per hour based on experience. Candidates should be safety-minded, reliable, able to read a tape measure, use basic hand and power tools, follow instructions and work well

Qualifications

• Manufacturing or shop experience preferred.
• Able to read a tape measure and use basic hand and power tools.
• Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to follow instructions and work well with a team.
• Ability to lift, move, and handle materials throughout the workday.

Responsibilities

• Assist with fabrication, painting, and production activities.
• Load, unload, move, and stage steel and other materials.
• Clean, grind, and prepare steel for fabrication and painting.
• Assist welders and fabricators with materials and parts.
• Paint steel structures and crane components.
• Assist with crane assembly and basic quality inspections.
• Safely use hand and power tools.
• Read tape measures, part tags, and material labels.
• Operate forklifts and overhead cranes after training.
• Perform other shop duties as assigned.
