Job summary

Birdon America, Inc. is seeking a Pipe and Mechanical Planner in Bayou La Batre, AL to define and develop production work packages for shipbuilding projects. This role requires strong material planning, scheduling, and coordination with engineering, production, and supply chain teams.

The planner will lead BoM reviews, manage material availability, and support the build cycle with clear instructions and risk mitigation to meet cost and schedule targets.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge and experience of pipe and mechanical installation in a construction environment (shipbuilding preferred).
• Experience in planning and scheduling – defining packages of work.
• Strong MS Office Skills.
• Ability to work independently and collectively with the Program Team.
• Experience in shipbuilding.
• Experience with P6, Business Central.

Responsibilities

• Support the material planning processes and procedures to support the build of the WCC Program.
• Work with Scheduling, Detail Planning, Supply Chain and Material Control functions.
• Review and process Engineering BoM data, developing material BoMs and requisitions in Business Central ERP.
• Perform material reconciliation of ABom and MBom to ensure correct demand quality.
• Manage Electrical stock holding, transfers, and return to stock in Business Central ERP.
• Proactively communicate lead times, forecast dates and material risk for production work packages.
• Produce and present metrics and reports on material availability, lead times and inventory.
