Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, seeks a Foreman to supervise and coordinate semi-skilled and skilled trades across multiple shifts in Newport News, VA. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered for eligible applicants, with no relocation assistance provided and travel up to 10% as needed.

Must meet education requirements including a Bachelor's or equivalent trade certifications.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor’s Degree OR
• Must have Apprentice Certification OR
• Must have High School and 4 years combined manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, military experience OR
• Must have Associate Degree in a Trade/Technical and 3 years of relevant manufacturing, shipbuilding, trade and/or military experience

Responsibilities

• Supervises, assigns, coordinates and evaluates semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel according to their skill, experience and job knowledge.
• Supervises and trains employees to improve quality and quantity of work performed.
• Recommends training to enhance skill and productivity of employees, and assists in development of training procedures.
