Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries, Newport News Shipbuilding division seeks a Foreman to supervise and coordinate semi-skilled to skilled trades personnel, ensure adherence to procedures and drawings, and drive safety and productivity on the shipyard floor.

The role emphasizes training, budgeting, and oversight of manufacturing, installation, operation, testing, and process controls with impactful financial outcomes. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered for new Foreman hires.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or Apprentice Certification or equivalent combined with manufacturing/shipbuilding/military background
Associate Degree in a Trade/Technical and 3 years of relevant experience
Includes experience in manufacturing, shipbuilding or trades

Responsibilities

Supervises, assigns, coordinates and evaluates semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel according to skill, experience and job knowledge.
Trains employees to improve quality and productivity; ensures adherence to drawings and procedures.
Breaks strategies into practical action plans and ensures training to perform these plans.
Responsible for manufacturing, installation, operation, testing and processes with significant financial impact; monitors shifts and budgets.
