Job summary

You will oversee administration, shipping, workforce scheduling, quality and safety, manage about 40 employees off-peak and up to 300 seasonal staff during peak periods, and coordinate with carriers to optimize performance.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a shipping or e-commerce fulfillment environment required.
• Leadership experience within a shipping or distribution department.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• English fluency required; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor department workflow to ensure timely shipment of customer orders.
• Plan, organize, schedule, and delegate daily operational activities.
• Manage and evaluate employee performance, including training new hires and ensuring current employees are properly trained.
• Coordinate pickup schedules with various carriers.
• Oversee employee management directly or through team leads, including selection, retention, development, and disciplinary actions.
• Plan, direct, and coordinate shipping activities in a safe and organized work environment in compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Oversee incoming stock and supplies for the department.
• Ensure compliance with quality assurance standards, including housekeeping and cleanliness of work areas.
• Operate department-specific equipment as needed.
• Diagnose and resolve operational issues in a timely manner.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
