Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Supervisor for Alsip, IL, onsite. You will lead daily shipping/receiving, drive performance, coach a team, and ensure on-time delivery while maintaining safety and 5S practices. SAP proficiency and 2+ years supervisory experience are required.

The role emphasizes data-driven planning, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement in a manufacturing setting. A strong focus on accuracy, efficiency, and team development is essential.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.
5+ years of progressive experience in Shipping & Receiving operations in an industrial manufacturing environment.
3+ years of experience using SAP for shipping and warehouse management.
2+ years of supervisory experience in shipping and receiving or warehouse operations.
2+ years of experience using Microsoft Excel to analyze and manipulate order and delivery data.

Responsibilities

Analyze and track operational data, maintain daily management boards, and drive departmental performance through reporting, communication, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
Lead daily shipping, receiving, packing, tagging, and export operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and on-time delivery performance that meets customer demand and company objectives.
Manage receiving and inventory flow processes, including put-away completion within 24 hours, cycle count support, shortage resolution, and coordination of shipments between internal company locations.
Direct and support material handlers in delivering materials to manufacturing cells while ensuring workflow priorities and production needs are consistently met.
Coach, develop, and monitor employee performance through cross-training, skill development, project assignments, and ongoing team collaboration initiatives that strengthen operational capability.
Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external customers by responding to operational inquiries, resolving equipment or parts-related issues, and ensuring clear communication across teams.
Maintain adequate inventory of indirect shipping and packaging supplies to support uninterrupted warehouse and shipping operations.
Champion a safe, clean, and organized work environment by enforcing safety protocols, PPE compliance, hazard reporting, and adherence to 5S principles.
