Job summary

FlightSafety International in Broken Arrow, OK seeks a Shipping Supervisor to oversee and coordinate the team responsible for verified shipments, ensure on-time processing and accurate records.

You will enforce export/import compliance, manage space, run weekly reports, and collaborate with Materials to optimize costs and efficiency, including AES filings and Hazmat rules where applicable.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years related shipping/logistics experience.
• Previous supervisory experience a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Studies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules.
• Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
• Ensure compliance with all export/import law and procedures, tariffs and duties; licenses and restrictions. Verifying compliance on AES filings. Insures Hazmat regulations are followed.
• Monitors space requirements within shipping and receiving working areas.
• Inspects material handling equipment or defects and notifies maintenance personnel.
• Directs movement of inbound shipments from receiving platform to processing and ultimate distribution to storage and work areas.
• Runs and analyzes weekly reports to ensure work is complete and accurate.
• Interfaces and coordinates materials receipts or shipments with other Materials departments.
• Maintains records on outbound shipments, delivery verification and shipping charges.
• Requests quotes for shipping to get the best cost savings for the company.
• Issues written and oral instructions.
• Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
• Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.
• Prepares composite reports from individual reports of subordinates.
• Adjust errors and complaints.
