Job summary

The National Federation of the Blind is seeking a shipping and receiving assistant to support the Independence Market at our national office in Baltimore. You will pick, pack, and ship orders, handle inbound shipments, and track inventory.

You will use postage meters and shipping software, process returns, and assist with packaging for our Tools for Independence programs. The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds and flexible hours; equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow directions and work with limited supervision.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office 365.
• Ability to move fifty-pound packages multiple times per day.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Flexible schedule and reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Pick, pack, and ship orders for Independence Market.
• Receive inbound shipments and route to inventory.
• Use postage meter and shipping software to process mailings.
• Assist with product returns and resolving shipping errors.
• Maintain stockroom through organization and routine inventory.
• Deliver large packages to the post office.
• Run reports, print labels, and package items for programs.
• Manage Perkins Brailler inventory and scheduling repairs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
